As summer wraps up, we are thrilled to celebrate the incredible contributions of our summer intern, Julien Audigier. Julien’s time with us has been a resounding success.
Joining the Cloudamize team in early July, Julien brought valuable Python experience from previous coding boot camps. He was tasked with taking on a low-priority backlog item: developing an automated slide deck and reporting tool tailored specifically for Azure assessments.
Over the course of the summer, Julien successfully built a functional Azure slide generation tool that also supports multi-provider environments. His final demonstration showcased several impressive technical accomplishments:
- Julien optimized the slide machine so that Azure-only assessments can be generated quickly.
- He ensured that splitting out the Azure assessments did not break any existing presentation templates.
- Julien created new storage analysis pie charts capable of handling Azure’s approximately 20 drive types.
- To maintain visual readability, these charts display the most commonly recommended drives and intelligently group the remainder into a separate bucket.
- He designed the underlying detection logic to easily support additional providers.
- The updated system now automatically generates summary decks for both Amazon Web Services and Azure when both environments are enabled.
Beyond his technical achievements, Julien was an active and engaged participant in team standups. His automated slide generator will provide lasting value to the Cloudamize platform. We are incredibly proud of his work, and as he heads back to school next week, we wish him the absolute best in his future career pursuits.
Julien’s summer is a great example of why we invest in early-career engineers. At Cloudamize, we believe young engineers bring fresh perspectives, a hunger to learn, and a willingness to question how things have always been done. We don’t hand our interns busywork. We give them real projects with real ownership, and we pair that responsibility with the support they need to succeed. Julien’s backlog item became a production-worthy tool because we trusted him with meaningful work, and he delivered.
Whether someone comes to us from a traditional computer science program or, like Julien, from coding boot camps, we value curiosity, initiative, and the drive to build. Our teams make room for interns at the table, in standups, in design discussions, and in demos, because we know that mentoring emerging talent makes our engineers better leaders and our products stronger. The next wave of cloud engineers is already out there learning, and we’re proud to help them take their first steps into the industry.
Thank you, Julien, for a fantastic summer!
