Why We Built It
We’ve heard it from customers again and again: installing and configuring agent and agentless collectors feels like too much friction when you’re still in the early stages of exploring a cloud migration. At that stage, what people want isn’t a comprehensive assessment, it’s a fast, directional read to help shape their thinking. Historically, Cloudamize hasn’t served this part of the journey well, and as a result, customers looking for a quick answer have turned to lower-cost alternatives instead.
We also know flat-file analyses come with real limitations. Formats like RVTools capture a single snapshot in time, so results depend heavily on what was happening in the environment at the moment of export, whether that’s peak load, a quiet trough, or something in between. We’re not positioning Cloudamize Express as a replacement for a full assessment. Instead, think of it as an early, directional signal, one that’s accurate enough to guide initial decisions and, for serious customers, a natural on-ramp to a Cloudamize Standard Assessment. That deeper engagement brings live data collection, more precise right-sizing, additional savings opportunities, modernization pathways, and visibility into installed applications and dependencies to accelerate migration planning.
To make that next step even easier, we’re lowering the barrier to entry further: Standard Assessments will be available free of charge through cloud funding programs, complemented by automated insights drawn from environments of similar shape and scale.
What to Expect
The Foundational Release is available now, free to use for up to 10 servers. To analyze larger environments or unlock Optimized designs, users can purchase an unlock code through resellers, cloud marketplaces, or directly from Cloudamize.
